How do I care for Stoneware/Pottery?:
My functional stoneware pottery (which is microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe) can withstand normal everyday use and will provide you with years of service and pleasure if you follow a few basic rules.
As with any fine ceramic, neither porcelain nor stoneware can withstand the shock of sudden temperature changes (thermal shock) and the following recommendations apply:
– The stoneware should be at room temperature before adding hot foods.
– Do not put cold foods into a preheated or “hot to the touch” stoneware pot.
– Do not take your stoneware from the freezer or fridge and put into a hot oven
– While in the oven be sure the pot’s contents completely cover the bottom surface of the pot in order to promote and maintain an even heat
– To wash your stoneware right after cooking, use hot water. Do not pour cold water into a hot stoneware pot.
– To best preserve your fine stoneware, wash by hand and do not subject unglazed surfaces to soaking.

Are  your glazes food safe?
All my functional pieces are finished with lead free, food safe glazes and all of the ceramics on this site are handcrafted from high quality stoneware or porcelain clays.

How do I purchase something online?
If you’d like to purchase something click the “add to cart” button. The cart system will walk you through the process; it’s quite painless… however, if you have any questions just email or give me a call.

Why isn’t a tax amount shown on the cart or the check out page?
I am classified as a “small seller” both provincially and federally, so I am not required to collect either pst or gst.  As I do not have a “nexus” in any State in the USA, I am not required to collect sales tax for people buying online from any State.  You will need to check with your State Taxation Department to see if you are required to pay tax, how much, and for details on how to remit the tax to them.

How can I know when you will be having a show/sale?:
I send an e-newsletter to all customers a few times a year with dates of shows & sales and information on new items and on interesting ceramics news. If you don’t want to receive newsletters let me know in the special notes area when you make your purchase. There is also an easy to use unsubscribe button on each newsletter if you later decide you would prefer not to receive the e-news.

There’s a piece I’d like to purchase but there isn’t an “Add to Cart” button, what do I do?
 Once an item has been purchased the “Add to Cart” button is automatically removed.

I put some items in my cart earlier and when I went back they were gone, what happened?
As all of the items on this site are one-of-a-kind I don’t want to take the risk of a piece being put in a cart and forgotten for days or forever. With this in mind, you will receive an email about an hour after you have put something into the cart if you have not purchased it. After 24 hours, the item may be put back into available stock for someone else to purchase.

How will I know my order went through, will I receive an email confirmation?
Yes, you will be sent an email confirmation that will list everything you’ve ordered as well as all of the costs associated with your order. If you have any issues please call me as soon as possible.

Can I change or cancel my order?
Email or call me as soon as possible and I’ll take care of it: April.Sheehan.Ceramics@shaw.ca and/or April Sheehan (250)542.1532  Please note, some orders are shipped the day they placed, it may not always be possible to cancel.

I want to return my purchase, what do I do?
 If you’re not happy, I’m not happy; contact me and I’ll take care of it. My policy is to refund the full price of the purchase minus shipping and packing fees. All returns must be sent back to me within 20 days and in original, unused condition.

How will my order be shipped?
All orders shipped to a street address in Canada will be delivered by UPS. For PO Boxes, for the U.S.A & international orders we normally ship through Canada Post; however, I will contact all international customers with a quote before shipping.

How long will it take to receive my order?
If your order is being shipped it should arrive within 4-7 business days. Please allow additional time for shipments outside of Canada.
If you live in Vernon, BC (or close enough that you’d like to pick it up yourself) contact me…depending on what I’m up to you might be able to pick it up same day (or even same hour…).

Do you offer expedited shipping?
 Give me a call and I’ll look at the options.

Can you ship to a different address than my billing address?
Yes, just make sure you note the change in the billing and shipping portion of your checkout process. Please feel free to call or email me with any questions or special directions you may have.

Gift Giving:
I will ship directly to a gift recipient upon request. If you like, I will include a card with the shipment; please use the “Notes to” area of the order form to provide your personal sentiment. Also, be sure to let me know if you do not want the invoice included with the shipment.

Do you ship to addresses outside of Canada?
Yes. In addition to all Canadian Provinces and Territories, arrangements can be made to ship just about anywhere on the globe. For international orders, the cart will automatically reserve your pieces, then I’ll find the most economical way to ship your order to you and be in touch with you in order to finalize your order.

What do I do if something is damaged when I receive it?
Please check all the packages upon delivery. If by chance a shipment arrives damaged please let me know as soon as you can: April.Sheehan.Ceramics@shaw.ca and/or April Sheehan (250)542.1532. I’ll handle it from this end. Please save all the packaging as UPS will pick up the damaged items.

Pricing Errors?
Once in a while it happens. When and if it does happen I’ll do everything we can to make it right. Your satisfaction is my biggest goal.
